Questions, answered.
What is EquityMarker?
EquityMarker is a cap table platform for private companies. It tracks share classes, your shareholder ledger, certificates, transfers, splits, options with vesting, warrants, SAFE notes and loans, with a full audit trail, an investor portal and board records.
Is EquityMarker free?
Yes. The free plan includes one company, one user, up to 30 stakeholders, and every feature, with no limit based on how much you have raised. No credit card is required.
Does the free plan end after a financing or once I pass $1 million raised?
No. The amount you raise does not affect free-plan eligibility. You can keep using the free plan after any financing as long as you stay within one company, one user, and 30 stakeholders.
Which instruments can I track?
Share classes and series, a live shareholder ledger, certificates, transfers, stock splits, option pools with vesting schedules, warrants, SAFE notes, and loans with interest and payment history.
Is there an audit trail?
Yes. Every issuance, transfer, split, grant, login and upload is recorded in plain English and is searchable by date, category and person.
Can I manage more than one company?
Yes. One account can hold multiple companies, each with its own shareholders, ledgers, investor portal and permissions. Paid plans add more companies, users and stakeholders.
Can investors sign in?
Yes. Investors get their own portal that shows their holdings and only the materials you choose to publish to them.
Can I export my cap table?
Yes. Every ledger exports to CSV and print, and you can request a full archive of your records. Your data is yours to take at any time.
Is EquityMarker a good alternative to Carta or Pulley?
Yes, especially for companies that want an accurate cap table, financing instruments and an investor portal without a large bill. EquityMarker starts free for one company. Carta and Pulley are trademarks of their respective owners and EquityMarker is not affiliated with either.
Does EquityMarker provide legal, tax or investment advice?
No. EquityMarker is software for recordkeeping and reporting. Continue to rely on qualified legal, tax, accounting and valuation advisers.
